On Friday at lunch time, I watched a presumably newly fledged Male Cardinal being fed by Momma. He was doing the wing flutters while in a begging position and chirping constantly.
On Friday at supper time, a Sharpie blew thru the bird feeders and snatched a House Finch. All of the other birds in the vicinity scattered immediately except another House Finch that was sitting on the platform feeder that the Sharpie had just raided. The finch was flattened down as low as a finch can go and it just sat there for nearly 3 minutes. It started to move its head a bit and finally stood up, pecked at a few seeds and flew away. Always give thanks.
