Subject: [MDBirding] Wheaton Regiona & Brookside Gardens today

Hi all,

One of those wonderful autumn days to be out but not real active bird-wise. An obvious drop-off in certain migrants (robins, catbirds, flickers) but enlivened by several "firsts of season" including a couple of early Juncos. We, along with other birders, did Wheaton Regional Park (WRP) and then Barry and I went over to Brookside Gardens which was uncharacteristically quiet. That is, the hordes of catbirds and robins had virtually disappeared, leaving no berry untouched! Still, we had 8 species of warbler (and missed Blackpoll seen by others), only BTBs in any number, plus the firsts. Fly-over Bald Eagle and Osprey were also fun to see.
