Subject: [MDBirding] Cromwell Valley HawkWatch-Good Numbers Continue

Good numbers of migrating raptors continue to be recorded at the Cromwell Valley Park HawkWatch in Baltimore County. After Saturday's flight of 373 hawks representing 11 species, the Sunday and Monday flights were just as impressive if a little less so numerically. While many of these birds are quite high and not easy to spot without the aid of some nice clouds giving contrast, we were treated to several relatively low and long views of Peregrines, N. Harriers(including at least one 'gray ghost'), Broad-wings and Sharpies. Our numbers here in Baltimore have compared quite well with many of the east coast sites reporting. Go to hawkcount.org for reports from dozens of hawkwatches across the country.
