Greetings,

The Kohl Gallery of Art at Washington College will be exhibiting a
collection of rare volumes and prints by some of the finest artists of
the 19th and early 20th centuries. "In Pursuit of Beauty: John James
Audubon and the Golden Age of Bird Illustration" opens Tuesday, October
9, with a reception from 5 to 7 PM, and continues through Friday,
November 30.

Kent County Bird Club and MOS members are invited to attend the
reception or visit during regular gallery hours - 1 to 6 PM Wednesday
through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). In addition to Audubon,
other artists represented in the exhibit include William Beebe, Charles
Lucien Bonaparte, Daniel Giraud Elliot, John Gould, and Alexander Wilson.

The monthly meeting of the Kent County Bird Club is also October 9, at
7:30 PM at Heron Point in Chestertown, and will feature a program on
"Birding the Bering Sea: Western Alaska Specialties and Asian Vagrants"
by well-traveled birder Phil Davis. All are welcome to join us.
