Subject: [MDBirding] Peregrine Falcon, Lincoln's Sparrow, Blue Mash Nature Trail, Mont. Co. 10/5

After running some errands, I rewarded myself with a late afternoon walk around the Blue Mash Nature Trail (counterclockwise) At first it was very quiet, but as I got around to the back side near the landfill fence and the woods, things started jumping. I saw at least three Lincolns Sparrows, Field Sparrows, and White-throated Sparrows. Then had a nice surprise when an immature Peregrine Falcon flew low overhead. My other interesting observation was a significant number of Northern Mockingbirds rather congenially sharing several fruiting trees. My usual observations of Mockingbirds involve a single bird chasing all comers away from its food source. A number of the birds I saw were immatures, which might explain their sharing the resources.
