Hi All,
I got up this morning and birded around Patterson Park. Yes it was cold, and yes it was raining, but it was also extremely birdy! I ended up with 60 species in about 2 1/2 hours of birding. It was absolutely incredible. When I got to the flock that had my 18th MYRTLE WARBLER and 4th NASHVILLE WARBLER I started thinking: this can't be happening. Other highlights included half a dozen SAVANNAH SPARROWS in the little weedy patch near the ice rink, a TENNESSEE WARBLER by the Boat Lake, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW a pair of early DARK-EYED JUNCOS and my first of the season PURPLE FINCHES and HERMIT THRUSH. The full list is below.
Good Birding!
