Morning all,
Yesterday marked the last day for the adult male RT Hummigbird at our feeder (haven't seen any sign today, Oct 9), just a day short of tying my late date record here.
Today, at least 5 PINE SISKINS were gorging themselves at the sunflower feeders, feisty little guys as always. Photos. In the yard, another Swainson's Thrush was a nice surprise, as was a small flock of at least 5 Golden-crowned Kinglets (odd, but no Ruby-crowned yet this fall), and 2 warbler species, Black-throated Green and Yellow-rumped. 2 Eastern Phoebes, a Gray Catbird, lots of bluebirds, 3 Carolina Wrens (very vocal)and an adult (probably male) Cooper's Hawk, perched high in a tree and keeping activity at the feeders low until it flew off. Still hoping to see the hmmingbird...
Lots of woodpeckers and Blue Jays as well.
