Subject: [MDBirding] Perryman Park-Orange-crowned Warbler, Lincoln's Sparrows, Blue-headed Vireo

Hi all,

I made a late trip to Perryman Park in Harford County (started @ 10 AM) and saw some pretty good birds. I first took a slow, counter-clockwise loop around the impoundment, then walked some of the trails through the woods. The very first bird I saw was a Lincoln's Sparrow along the east edge of the impoundment, maybe 50 yards from the ramp. When I got the binoculars on him, I noticed two others in the same small tree. I found a fourth one a little later, in the willowy section at the SW edge. While I was watching this sparrow, a small flock of warblers flitted low across the edge of the willows, foraging in the weeds. There were three Tennessees, a female Common Yellowthroat, and an Orange-crowned Warbler, all in view at the same time. Later I found a Blue-headed Vireo along the edge of the woods on the north side of the impoundment, along with several Blackpolls, Black-throated Blues, a Black-throated Green and a Western Palm. Later in the afternoon I returned to the impoundment and couldn't relocate any of the birds from the morning. When they hunker down in those thick weeds...good luck. Here's the link to the eBird list and some documentation photos. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S11755927 .

Have fun out there
