We've been hearing a pair of Great Horned Owls at nightfall and before dawn for several days now. We've been fortunate to get good looks at one. Have not seen many rabbits around lately!

> On a walk I led at Little Bennett on Monday, we saw several "brownie" Purple Finches, my first of the season. Also notable: first of season White-throated Sparrows, Swamp, Chipping, and Field Sparrows, Red-breasted Nuthatch, both kinglets, and a late Scarlet Tanager.
