I began at 5 AM, listening for owls, but had no luck, perhaps because of SW winds pre-dawn. The winds died down around sunrise, slowly building up throughout the day, till it got rather brisk, but warming, by early afternoon.

I finished the day as I began, alone, without seeing a new species for the last 2 hours until finally, 4 Black Vultures flew over just before 2 PM.

Forgot to mention the large numbers of American Robins that went through today, the biggest flight here by far this season. Also good numbers of Blue Jays as well. Big misses were just 2; Chimney Swift and Rock Pigeon, both birds that we have had on the count the previous 3 years.

Really glad I chose to do The Big Sit today rather than yesterday, as we had a great day, with perfect temperatures and conditions!
