Subject: [MDBirding] Clay-colored Sparrow in Charles County - Indian Creek NRMA

Hi everybody:
I just returned home from a full day of birding in Charles and St. Mary's
County. I just wanted to get the word out that I found a CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW in Indian Creek Natural Resources Management Area this morning. I
initially saw the bird at about 9 AM this morning and despite numerous
hunters (not hunting) running their dogs through the same vicinity I was
able to relocate the bird about 75 minutes later for George Jett,
Gwen Brewer and John Hubbell. John also found a Lincoln's Sparrow in the
same vicinity (Thanks John). Earlier I also had several White-crowned
Sparrows; also saw Field, Song, White-throated and Swamp Sporrows. I also
saw a Nashville Warbler and while the others were there we had a Palm
Warbler.

Indian Creek is a LARGE area...Attempting to give directions here would not
be easy and would have too much of an error to be misled. If anybody is
interesting in checking it out tomorrow either call me at my house
#...301-330-5490 tonight ...I will answer the phone until the last out of
the Cardinals - San Fran. baseball game tonight (wish the NATS were still
playing). Tomorrow feel free to call me at work...301-948-1518 or on my
cell...301-742-0036.
