I wasn't able to get up close pix of the Nelson's Sparrow that we found yesterday at Cove Point Marsh (Calvert, restricted access). I'd appreciate it if someone would give me an opinion. In the field looks at the bird through a scope suggest nelsoni due to the very bright orange/buff face but we were not able to see if it had which braces on the back as it was always face-on until it dropped down into the marsh grass.
