Afternoon all,
Around lunchtime I looked out to the feeders and counted at least 24 Pine Siskins feeding on and about the feeders. Most were actually feeding on the ground beneath the feeders, and in the rain, many looked very dark. The large flock we saw at The Big Sit yesterday flew on past, never landing, though there were several at the feeders late in the day. They are much more shy/skittish about coming to the feeders when there is anyone on the deck, it seems. Still have at least 4 Purple Finchs as well, 3 female types and a lovely red male.
Haven't seen the hummingbird since this morning, but I mixed a batch of food just in case. Will keep the feeder flled.
