This was the first morning I was able to get up to the Swan Creek dredge facility / wetland and I hoping that the previously reported Nelson's Sparrow was still around. If it was, I didn't see it but there were a ton of birds all along the wooded edge from the parking area down into the wetland, etc. I only had an hour this morning but had my first White-crowned Sparrows of the year (several), a few Savannahs, loads of Song, White-throated, and Swamps, and a few Field Sparrows. There was a big flock of mostly Ruby-crowned Kinglets (dozens) as well as many Myrtles, a couple Palms, and a Black-throated Green Warbler. I defintiely did not want to leave.
