8:00 this morning (10/18), a flock of about 25 Pine Siskins flew over my house and landed in the trees in the back yard right over the thistle feeder. Taking the hint I quickly filled same but was not able to stay and see if they used it. This is the earliest I can recall larger numbers of siskins in our neighborhood.
