This morning at 7:30 AM, between showers, I heard the distinctive note of a Bicknell's Thrush in the woods behind my house. I have not heard it since, but this stretch of Upper Watts Branch Park is traditionally good for thrushes and the bird could be up- or downstream from my location on Duke St. South. The stream valley can be accessed by a path at the corner of Princeton Place and Fordham St., about a block upstream from my property. The weather does not seem optimal for migration, so it could still be here and may be worth a short walk.
