Hi All,
I've been trying and trying, but until today I've come up empty for Pine Siskins in DC (a DC bird!)� I was finally treated to 4-5 low flyovers at the National Arboretum.� They flew close enough to note the streaked gray bodies with yellow bars in the wings as they flew overhead.� I still really want to get some perched birds feeding in the wild, but for today I'm satisfied with what I got. Also had 3 Red-breasted Nuthatches and a pair of American Pipits.
Thank you mother nature and the stingy Canadian conifer forests that make this 2012-13 invasion possible!
