Morning all,
Our little male RT Hummingbird is still around, though he disappeared for days before I saw him today. I believe it is the same one that was last seen on the evening of Oct. 19, as he sits in the very same spot in our dogwood tree. I thought I got a glimpse of him a couple of days ago, just before dusk, flying away form the feeder, but after a stake-out, he did not return. Then a short while ago this morning, I was looking out the back door, and when I turned back, saw another fleeting glimpse of what looked like a hummer flying away from the feeder. So I sat watching, and finally, there he was, perched in the dogwood tree, right where he "always" sits. He then came to the feeder while I watched. I will clean and refill it again.
Oct. 28, very late!
Not a western rarity, but still fun to see this late. Still a few siskins and Purple Finches at the feeders too.
