Hello All,

I had a bird walk each of the past two mornings. The first was Patterson Park Audubon's monthly bird walk. Notable sightings include a male AMERICAN KESTREL being harassed by a female MERLIN near the gardens and a RED-TAILED HAWK near the Boat Lake, a single YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, one BLUE-HEADED VIREO, and some flyover finches including a PINE SISKIN.

The other was a walk this morning in Herring Run Park where I took about ten 12-13 year old kids and a parent birding. Highlights from that walk were a heard-only BARRED OWL, several flyover raptors consisting of a TURKEY VULTURE, a COOPER'S HAWK, a MERLIN and an AMERICAN KESTREL. There were also some good songbird flocks around. In that are we had PURPLE FINCHES, SISKINS and several groups of CEDAR WAXWINGS.

Good Birding!
