I drove out River Rd this afternoon to check out the Patton Turf Farm area. Not much happening until I got past White's Ferry (heading towards Poolesville on rte 107) and found a large flock of gulls in a farm field on left hand side.
Through the scope, I could see that the gulls were feasting on earthworms. Flock contained about 125 Ring-bills, 15 Herring, 5 Bonaparte's and 4 Laughing Gulls. Also, a Common Raven briefly landed in the field.
