I was lamenting with Sue Hamilton yesterday that neither of us had been fortunate to have Pine Siskins. We had a single bird at our feeders a couple of weeks ago but it only stayed a few minutes then disappeared. Anyway, when I got home yesterday afternoon, as soon as I got out of the car I could hear a siskin zzzzzzzzzzzzip! call. When I looked at our feeders, they were inundated. There were at least 20 birds on the feeders and on the ground. Still without a Purple Finch which I'm assuming will come eventually. Red-breasted Nuthatches now showing at the feeders and not just up in the pines calling.
