While at Fort Armistead Park at 12:00, I noticed a very dark gull flying
around with several Laughing Gull (LAGU). This is what I observed: dark body
with white undertail, solid black tail, primaries darker than wing coverts.
No spots on the primary tips. Dark wing linings.
After checking Sibley at home I want to add the following: This bird was a
juvenile Black-tailed Gull. I can�t say that I noticed that it was bigger
than the LAGU; but the size difference was nothing like seeing a Herring
Gull (HEGU) with LAGU. I did not note a lighter face on this bird.
After checking the Bing map, it appears that the bird was on the borderline
between Baltimore City or Anne Arundel County, south of Fort Carroll.
