I relocated Matt's CONW right around 5:00, having caught a glimpse of something flying low and surreptitiously into a tangle under a large tree. I had an excellent look before thinking to try for a photo, which came out blurry but diagnostic. (It was completely cloudy and quite dark at the time.)

This was in the area described by Matt, in the right side of the paved trail about halfway between its split from a right fork gravel road and the bridge. Judging by the leaves in his photo, it may have been the same tree; at any rate this one is large with many trunks, dark bark, and small leaves still on it. Sorry I don't know the type, but something related to an elm, perhaps, with slightly asymmetrical leaves.

Thanks, Matt!

Needless to say I was shocked when I saw the bird sitting up in a tree, out in the open. I was even more surprised that it was an adult male!
