Hi all,
Last night, Betsy Bangert, Ron Marney and I helped Tami Pearl set the Northern Saw-whet Owl banding station on Assateague back up. It was partially taken down due to Hurricane Sandy. We had a stellar night catching seven owls. Dave Brinker took over after we left and I bet he caught a few more. Saw-whets are making quite a push South this year. Some years only a dozen or two owls are caught at the station on Assateague. This year will likely break a hundred total captures.

Cheers and good birding, Mike Burchett Ocean Pines, MD
PS Tami just sent Betsy a text saying that Dave caught eight NSWOs in the first net check tonight!
