While handing out candy 11/3 for Halloween a mom told her child not to step on the "dead robin" in my front yard. I retrieved the bird and after some study found it to be a cave swallow. I'm guessing the bird is another victim of the winds of Hurricane Sandy. The bird has been verified through ebird and the body will be going to Frostburg University. I am told this is a first for Allegany County MD and this is the farthest west in MD that bird has been found.
