A lot of folks like the Nikon Monarch 8 x 42s -- I am not sure they can be had for $150 but you might check the internet. I saw a pair at a local birding store yesterday for about $225 which is certainly reasonable. Buying locally also allows you to try them out.

I am currently looking for a new pair of birding binos and am looking to pay under $150. I currently have a Nikon 10x50 which weren't bought with birding in mind. Although they're good, I'm reading that 8x42's are recommended birding glasses. Does anyone have any suggestions about a brand, etc.?
Thanks!
Dean
