Subject: [MDBirding] BROWN PELICANS

Today I had the pleasure of helping my friend move his boat from St. Margaret's to St. Michael's. From Sandy Point to Thomas Point I tallied 87 (EIGHTY SEVEN) BROWN PELICANS. The majority of these were perched on the bridge piers.

I took loads of photos and even tried to get some with readable leg bands. We shall see what they reveal.

Interesting to note that the gull and cormorant numbers were down significantly from my regular land observations from Sandy Point.

An additional Brown Pelican was along the Talbot shoreline, and two more BRPE were off the Southern tip of Kent Island.

Good Birding,

Dan Haas
