I saw this VERY bright bird land at the top of the trees and thought that it was just one heck of a bright Cardinal. Low and behold as I got my binos on it, I was shocked to see it was a Baltimore Oriole. Isn't this a little late for them to be around still? On Saturday morning, I was birding in Anne Arundel County along the part of Brock Bridge Road north of Rte 32 at the bridge over Dorsey Run. At the entrance to the Maryland Environmental Services training facility, I heard what I thought was a Baltimore Oriole singing. I was unable to find the bird (was birding from the road), so I wrote it off to a presumably very talented mockingbird even though the song was not repeated over and over again. I believe indeed it was a Baltimore Oriole!
