Hi All,
I've been offline until now, but thanks for including me on this thread.
Since we have a wide range of expertise in birding skill and knowledge, I would hope posts spell out birds and locations. While reading posts with bird codes and parochial locations stimulate a desire to ask questions and learn more for some people, others are probably unnecessarily intimidated.
I don't think we should make a big deal here, but I'd support letting people know it would be helpful to spell out bird names and a little bit about the location if it isn't a super common birding area, i.e. Rock Creek park in DC, Ft. McHenry,...

In my defense, I did look back in my email before I posted this, but I didn't see the previous email. Maybe I didn't receive it or maybe it's buried in the daily avalanche of email I receive. I apologize for not seeing it; but I did look.
Please consider that not everyone can check their email frequently and that email delivery is not 100% reliable.
Sorry to have created a controversy; all I wanted to ask is for posts to be easier to understand for those of us who are more casual birders. I certainly appreciate the effort everyone makes in posting. Please keep 'em coming!!
