MD birders:
Hard on the heels of Gail and Barry seeing a Common Raven on Randolph Rd., Montgomery County, and Sarah Anderson hearing one by her home in Cabin John, I can report that I heard and saw two Ravens about noon today, Wednesday 11/14, in Cabin John Regional Park, West Bethesda. I was birding along the power line right of way that runs perpendicular to Westlake Drive at the time. The Ravens were flying NE, quite high.
The power company has mown the right of way grasses very short this year, but in the shrubby hollows and edges not reachable by the mowers there were lots of sparrows -- basically Song, White-throated and Field, along with a couple of Towhees (EATO's for those who prefer them this way.
