Evening all,
Just as I was getting ready to close up my shop for the night(5:07), I heard the distinct and loud calling of Tundra Swans. I grabbed my bins and raced outside, to watch two V-shaped flocks, numbering between 70-80 birds, calling loudly and heading due south, right overhead. One of my favorite sounds in all of nature (along with yodeling loons, calling screech owls, and the springtime trilling of American toads).
A great ending to the day!
