This morning I photographed what I first thought was an Orange-crowned Warbler at Kinder Farm Park in Severna Park. It posed nicely for several photos.
A short time later, while still at the park, I checked my photos on my camera --- and noticed a big, bold, complete white eye-ring and thought... uh oh... Nashville?!
This evening I threw the photos up on my computer and came to the conclusion that I was right, and then wrong... ;)
The warbler was (relatively) slow moving, not very fidgety and appeared stocky in the field. Not very NAWA. But that white eye-ring tripped me up a bit, and the bird didn't have (in my camera's view finder), the streaking that I have observed in my previous MD ORANGE-CROWN sightings.
Thanks to Bill Hubick and Sean McCandless for the ID assistance!
The bird was in the dry, scrub meadow on the far North-western edge of the park.
Good Birding,
