Subject: [MDBirding] New Windsor Wetlands - 11/18/12 - Possible Mute Swan????(photo attached)


I would appreciate some help on this bird. I labeled it a Mute Swan, but I am not 100% sure. Sorry for the heavy crop, but it was quite a distance away. Thanks!!

Canada Goose 100 1 was hanging in the marsy pond while 2 were in the water treatment pond. Large nnumbers of flyovers throughout the morning. Could have been more than 100+.
Mute Swan 1 Lone Bird. Way off in the distance, hanging out in the water treatment pond. Photo attached. Would like some verification.

Common Yellowthroat 1 Lone female hanging around the small pond/marshy area. Attracted to spishing. Vocalized with it's tiny chatter. Skulked most of the time, only popping up out of the reeds to look around. Very prominent yellow throat with dull greenish back.
Palm Warbler (Western) 1 Seen twice over the 4 hour period. Was hanging with the Kinglets. Very vocal with it's usual chip. Very prominent white eye stripe. Very dull warbler other than yellow rump. Most obvious was the dipping/wagging of it's tail.
