Aside from Sam Dyke's incredible WESTERN GREBE, there was also an EARED GREBE on the South side of the scrubby island early this AM. The Eared was present early in the AM (when the WEGR was NOT visible). The EAGR was slowly, but steadily, making its way South toward the Verrazano bridge.

In other news, perched on the barbed wire next to the (continuing) WESTERN KINGBIRD was a BLUE GROSBEAK!

Finally...

On Assateague, there were 21 RED CROSSBILL, all 3's and one 10 (hahahaha, only kidding, until I get my very own spectrograph)! They were flying around, but regularly coming back to the tall pines on the NW edge of the state park parking lot.

Good Birding,
