Hi All,
This morning an Orange-crowned Warbler was working a Myrtle thicket and weedy field about 500 feet east of the R St. entrance to the National Arboretum in Washington DC. It was associating loosely with a group of Juncos and White-throated Sparrows, although it's also quite possible they were all just attracted to the same food source.
Over an hour and a half (8 - 9:30 am) no winter finches made an appearance in spite of the healthy pine cone crop...
Good birding...
