The trailhead for the Northampton Furnace Trail is at the intersection of Dulaney Valley Rd and Chapelwood Ln (39.4412, -76.5969) on the west side of Loch Raven Reservoir. I encountered the birds nearly 1/2 mile east on the main trail from Delaney Vally Road. Matt Young's initial accessment confirmed type 3 crossbills with the possibility of type 10 in the flock.
