Just wanted to alert those interested that some updates/corrections are now
reflected on the 2012-2013 Maryland and Nearby Area Christmas Bird Count
list at http://www.mdbirds.org/counts/xmas/xmas.html.
Updates/corrections:
1) Chincoteague N.W.R. CBC - I have received an email from Teta Kain that
Gerald Tracy (<gerald.tracy...>) has agreed to become the new
compiler. However, have not been able to make contact with Gerald. I still
have count listed under its traditional date of Dec 29 but I am not 100%
sure about this. Maybe someone on MD Birding who regularly participates in
this count has heard from Gerald and can confirm the date?
2) Inwood, WV CBC - Correct date for this count is Saturday, January 5 and
it has been listed under this date at
http://www.mdbirds.org/counts/xmas/xmas.html since early October. However,
there was a error in the calendar section of the Nov/Dec '12 Yellowthroat
(both the hard copy and the online .pdf version) and the Inwood Count was
inadvertently listed as taking place on Sunday, Jan. 6 which is 1 day past
the count period and not the correct date.
3) Ft. Belvoir CBC - Corrected to reflect that Kurt Gaskill is the compiler
and his email is <Kurtcapt87...> not verizon.com.
Also, while at http://www.mdbirds.org/counts/xmas/xmas.html , if you want
to view the CBC maps, make sure you follow the download instructions.
Double clicking either map link will just bring up some html gobbledygook.
The map must first be downloaded to your computer and then opened in Google
Earth.
