Subject: [MDBirding] possible redpoll north of Elkton

I had a brief glimpse of what may have been a Common Redpoll in my yard a
few minutes ago. The bird was soaking wet so it was hard to get details,
and of course the minute I had it in the bins it flew away. It was about
the size of the junco that was chasing it, pinkish-red breast, pale brown
overall. It was hard to tell head and throat color because the bird was so
wet and left so quickly.

If this is indeed a redpoll, it is only the 2nd I've seen in my yard in 23
years.

Also have Purple Finch, Red-breasted Nuthatch, and possible Black-capped
Chickadee. Saw a Brown Creeper today, too.
