Hi Everyone,
Sam Dyke found a first year Iceland Gull at the Salisbury Landfill today (27 Nov 2012). He saw the bird down in the sandpit pond that is viewed from Naylor Mill Rd.
For those unfamiliar:
We are no longer allowed inside the Salisbury Landfill to bird. Bummer.
Many gulls can still be studied here by scoping down into the sandpit pond from the wide unpaved shoulder on Naylor Mill Rd. Much better than nothing! The gulls come and go and are periodically flushed by Bald Eagles, so there is a lot of turn over. As with all things gull, patience will help. :)
Naylor Mill Rd crosses Bus Rt 50 on the west side of Salisbury.
Have fun,
Ron Gutberlet Salisbury, MD <rlgutberlet...>
