Subject: Re: [MDBirding] Crossbills etc. -- where to look

I've already checked out distance and directions to Rocky Gap, after posts like this one (edited):

Ron Gutberlet and I headed west this morning, first to very cold Garrett County and then on to Allegany County. Our day was fairly unproductive until we got to Rocky Gap in the early afternoon. One of the first birds we saw there was a Snow Bunting.
We spent most of our time walking around the east and west ends of the park hoping for crossbills or grosbeaks. Finally, Ron spotted some movement in the spruces near the hotel. When we got a scope on the birds, we could see that they were White-winged Crossbills (3m, 2f).

And this from Jeffery Culler today:
Four birds at the Rocky Gap camp store. 11:50 am.

I think this is the 3rd post about success at Rocky Gap--wish it was a little closer!
