Subject: [MDBirding] Data Call--Western Grebe Documentation?

Hi Everyone,

The MD/DCRC would like to request any photos or notes on the recent WESTERN GREBE found by Sam Dyke in Worcester Co. The challenge facing reviewers will be fully eliminating a Western/Clark's intergrade based on the submitted photos (my own included). Several of us felt it appeared like a pure Western in the field and have submitted notes to eBird; however, I think only Phil Davis and I have submitted reports to the committee.

Please send any photos or reports to Phil Davis (<pdavis...>) and feel free to CC me (<bill_hubick...>). Information on submitting documentation is available here: http://www.mdbirds.org/mddcrc/rcindex.html. There are several report formats available. I prefer completing the Word document form and then e-mailing it. (When I write up a review species, I copy a previous report I submitted and then have fewer fields to update, as my address and several other fields are already filled in.)

eBird has revolutionized birding and bird records; however, Bird Record Committees (BRCs) like MD/DCRC will continue to play a critical role in formally vetting, summarizing, and maintaining our most interesting bird records.

It's a little extra work, but it's part of the deal. Please support your friendly neighborhood records committee. :)
