Too bad Jon's Pacific Loon didn't stick around for the weekend. I think many people (me included) are awaiting your photos of Saturday's bird to allow comparison with Jon's excellent collage of stills posted on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thrasher72/8254290738/in/photostream/. It would be a valuable learning experience for all of us for future ID challenges.
