Subject: [MDBirding] Bullfrog Road, Carroll County...Short-ear Owls NO!!!

Also, NO on the Loggerhead Shrike and the Says Phoebe in the Adams County Grasslands (Gettysburg and Pumping Station Road). I didn't find either of them. I drove up earlier today to have a look with an excitement about the Says.

I arrived at the Short ear Owl spot on Bullfrog road about 3:45PM to find a lovely Red Tail sitting in a tree along the road parked and got comfortable. It was a beautiful day and not too cool. The hawk would hunt the field and then perch again and again. I remained until 5:30 and I lost all of the light to observe the field with no sight whatsoever of any owls. However, I did hear what I thought was a short ear bark right at dusk and the birds may have been hunting over the hill beyond the trees in the joining pasture. An adult Bald Eagle was again present in one of the taller trees out in the field and remained until I departed. Its Lower, Slower Dorchester tomorrow..
