Subject: [MDBirding] Two Locations

I visited two locations today. The first was at an industrial park just behind Lowe's at White Marsh. Surprising there are lots of birds there. Today the highlight was watching a Northern Harrier floating around for 5 minutes as I pulled up. I got good visuals on it. Next I spotted about 10-12 Dark Eyed Juncos on the sidewalk and parking lot. Overall I spotted 12 species of birds in just 30 minutes. In the afternoon I drove out to Cromwell Valley Park near Loch Raven. The highlight for me was spotting a Caroline Wren just as I started towards a trail. I watched him for a few minutes at close range. After having seen 15-20 Carolina Chickadees and 35-40 Dark Eyed Juncos, I spotted a Pileated Woodpecker in a tree as I was driving out of the park. I also watched him in flight for about 6 seconds until he disappeared from my view. In addition, this place has quite a few Eastern Bluebirds (I spotted many today).
