Subject: [MDBirding] TUFTED DUCK - QA COUNTY

Mark Schilling called me to report a Tufted Duck (or potential hybrid).

The location is easy to find and accessible: the duck has been hanging out in the same spot behind the Kent Narrows Holiday Inn (North side of Rt 50) that has held a Tufted Duck and a Eurasian Wigeon in recent years.

He originally caught a glimpse of this duck yesterday, but obligations kept him from being able to carefully study it.

The bird doesn't have that classic long tuft, but Mark reports that it definitely has a tuft, as well as several other identification field marks of a Tufted Duck.

Good Birding,
