Subject: [MDBirding] Tufted Duck & Barrow's Goldeneye - YES!

Hi All,

Decided to take a shot at locating these 2 great birds today. Got down to Kent Narrows around 10:30 and found Leslie Starr, Joe Turner, and Jim Stasz plus another young man whose name I didn't get, already there viewing the bird. I got one quick look with the "tuft" extended, but for most of the time, the ducks were doing a lot of diving and the tuft was plastered to the back of the head making it tough to pick out. We all then wound up down by the Bill Burton Bridge looking for the Goldeneye. The bird was there but rather far out and the lighting was not the best so the viewing was rather unsatisfactory.

Nevertheless, these were both "Maryland" birds for me and the Tufted Duck was a North American bird as well! It was a great day and I appreciated the help from everyone in locating both birds.
