Subject: [MDBirding] Clay-colored Sparrow--Wicomico Co

Hi Everyone,

During the Salisbury CBC on Sunday (16 Dec 2012), I found a Clay-colored
Sparrow on Brick Kiln Rd. Sam Dyke re-found the bird on Tuesday (18 Dec).
Here are some directions if anyone would like to try:

When coming from Cambridge on Rt 50,

Right on Naylor Mill Rd
Right on Brick Kiln Rd
Park on side of road or on gravel road when you see 2 large towers to the
right
Here you'll see some shrubs, small trees, and some weeds and grasses; some
buildings and associated parking areas too
Sparrows in this area include Song, White-throated, and Chipping; the
Clay-colored Sparrow was associating with this group
May need to search fairly widely in this area
Be alert for any private property issues; I was there on Sunday and no one
was around.

Other highlights from my section of the circle were 2 House Wrens and the
continuing Iceland Gull at the Salisbury Landfill.

I'll get my photos of the Clay-colored Sparrow into eBird soon.

Have fun,

Ron Gutberlet
