Subject: [MDBirding] mystery yard bird

I have a bird at my feeder that I can't ID. It is feeding on the ground
and at first glance I thought brownie purple finch, but it is lighter
brown than that and has no white eyebrow stripe. The bird is about the size
of a junco, but stockier and with a short tail. It has a grayish brown
head, buffy color on the back and rump, brown wings, no wing bars, a bit of
white below the brownish throat and light brown streaks below that. Overall
color is a light to medium brown.

Sorry I can't get a photo.
