Subject: [MDBirding] Potomac River Ducks: Riverbend Park

A couple of friends and I walked along the river at Riverbend park in
Fairfax County on Saturday afternoon from about 2 until 4.
Walked both upriver and down from the parking lot.
We found significantly more ducks that the last time we were there,
including:
100 or more Ring-necked ducks, in three large groups; 75 - 10 Bufflehead,
all over the river;
8-10 Lessor Scaup; about the same number of Black ducks; 2 Tundra swans;
and a mute swan.
All the cold and snow to the north and west will, hopefully, bring in more
ducks soon.
