Subject: [MDBirding] White-winged Crossbills in Harford

My friend Alicia Farrell texted me this morning that she had 6-8 White-winged Crossbills in her hemlock trees in Forest Hill. I was already out so I headed right there while Kim and her mom met me there. On the way there, I saw a small bird at the top of a spruce at the cemetery on the corner of Deer Creek Church Rd and Chesnut Hill Rd. it was a calling male White-winged! I tried to record it, but will have to listen on headphones to see of I got anything. Continuing on to my friends house, eventually 2 White-winged came in and sat at the top of a Tulip Poplar for a few minutes, but never did feed in the hemlocks. This was not far from the cemetery, so these birds may be cycling through the area.

Good birding!
